Why join Local Trade Partners?

Your Next Customer Could Be a Trade Away.

Empty tables? Open appointments? Inventory taking up space? Let’s put them to work. LTP connects local business owners who buy, sell, and help each other get more from what they already have.

Meet New Customers

Give fellow members a reason to choose your business. Our team helps introduce what you offer to people looking to buy with trade.

Give Your Cash a Break

Earn LTP trade dollars from additional sales, then use them for purchases you need. Keep more cash available for expenses you can’t trade for.

Find Your People

Meet suppliers, make connections, and get to know other local owners. Good business relationships sometimes turn into good friendships, too.

A Little Extra Sales Muscle.

Think of our team as an extra set of hands for finding trade business. We help connect buyers and sellers—and help you find useful ways to spend what you earn.

Here’s how our transaction fees work:

$0 Transaction fee when you sell
10% Typical cash transaction fee when you buy

Membership and other charges may apply. Our team will walk you through your fees and terms before you join.

Interest-Free Lines of Credit

For qualified members

Have something you need before you’ve earned enough trade dollars? An approved LTP line of credit can give you a head start.

Buy within your approved limit, then earn trade dollars through future member sales to repay your trade balance. Talk to us about that project, purchase, or business need you’ve been putting off.

Subject to qualification, approval, and account terms. Credit is issued in LTP trade dollars, not cash. Membership and transaction fees still apply.

What If Empty Rooms Bought a Copier?

Imagine a hotel sells ten otherwise-empty room nights at LTP$100 each. That’s LTP$1,000 it could spend on an available copier from another member.

The hotel still covers the cost of serving those guests, plus applicable fees and taxes. But rooms that might have earned nothing have created useful buying power.

The same idea works for open appointments, empty restaurant tables, available crew time, and extra inventory. What’s your version of an empty room?

Illustrative example. Offers and availability vary by member.

Before You Buy, Think “LTP First.”

Trade dollars do their best work when you use them. Check the network before your next purchase—or ask your broker to help you find what you need.

Good Questions. Straight Answers.

How do I get started?

Start with a conversation. Tell us what your business offers, where you have room for more customers, and what you’d like to buy through trade.

We’ll help you explore the fit, explain membership, and get you started. Call 479-443-1977 or email our team.

Do I have to buy from the person who buys from me?

Nope! Sell to one member, earn LTP trade dollars, and spend them with another. Your next haircut doesn’t depend on your stylist needing whatever you sell.

That’s the beauty of a trade exchange: more choices than a one-to-one swap.

Is barter legal—and what about taxes?

Yes, barter is a legitimate way to do business. It also comes with tax responsibilities. Barter income is taxable, and LTP reports member sales on IRS Form 1099-B as required.

Pay applicable sales tax to the seller in cash at the time of purchase. Keep your transaction records and monthly statements, and ask your accountant how to report trade income and any eligible business expenses.

Read the IRS guide to bartering income.

Can my employees record sales easily?

Absolutely. Ask our office for a transaction link with your seller number already included. Bookmark it on your point-of-sale computer so your team can record sales without logging into your full account.

Prefer a phone or tablet? Our selling app lets staff process transactions without viewing your account balance or transaction history.

Ask us to help you get set up.

What makes someone a great trade partner?

A little consideration goes a long way. Here’s how we keep trading good for everyone:

  1. Say “I’m with LTP” first. Identify yourself as a member before purchasing and present your current member card.
  2. Keep prices fair. Charge your regular cash price, without an extra markup for trade. Buyers: compare quotes and be reasonable about negotiations.
  3. Check with us before mixing cash and trade. Any part-cash transaction needs advance LTP office approval. Approved exceptions for special-order parts or building materials must be charged at the seller’s cost, with no markup on the cash items.
  4. Bring cash for sales tax and tips. Pay these at the time of purchase. When the service is great, let your tip show it!
  5. Respect each business’s availability. Planning to book the whole dining room on a Razorback game night? Talk to the owner first. Trade should work for both sides.
  6. Get to know each other. Introduce your business, explore other members’ offerings, and tell us about great experiences—or anything that needs our attention.

Let’s Put Your “Extra” to Work.

Tell us what you could offer and what you’d love to buy. We’ll help you explore the possibilities—including interest-free trade credit for qualified members.
